About Sarah Bahrawi
I’m a Saudi Playwright, novelist, and screen writer. My greatest passion in the world in story telling :)
Most of my novels are based on true stories, depicting female's aspiration as well as status evolution in Saudi Society.
My Novels
Hamasat Miraat (A Mirror Whispers)
Salma and her mother are diagnosed with Breast cancer on the same day! During her treatment path, Salma rediscovers herself, a new lens to evaluate what really matters in life. With its wit, humor, and internal reflection, this novel could be best described as a Bridget Jones diary meets Eat love and Pray.
Sajeen Al Jasad (Confined in his Body)
Based on a true Story, Emran is a Saudi intersex. Diagnose as female when born, Rola feels she's a man entrapped in a woman's body. So she fights against her community to unite with her real gender identity.
Amna
Before banning the male guardianship law, Amna, like many others had been the victim of a father who'd also been abused as a child. Amna tells the story of a family throughout thirty years, suggesting that many of the human misfortunes, can be mitigated by proper legislations.
Confined
The English rewrite of Sajeen Al Jasad. I refused to translate the book, and rewrote it for a Westerns audience, with more details about Saudi culture.
